Local Transport


Two buses a week connect Curry Mallet with Langport and Taunton. (information correct at September 2016)

The 904 bus connects Curry Mallet to Langport every Friday. service provided by Isle Valley Transport

The bus leaves Curry Mallet Popes Cross (Old Chapel) at 10.02 and arrives Langport at 10.30.


It leaves Langport at 12.05 arriving back in Curry Mallet at 12.35.

The 901 bus connects Curry Mallet to Taunton every Saturday. service provided by Isle Valley Transport

The bus leaves Curry Mallet Post Office at 09.51 and arrives Taunton town centre at 10.15 (going on to railway station/Kilkenny car park at 10.18).


It leaves Taunton (Kilkenny) at 12.15 arriving back in Curry Mallet at 12.44.

SLINKY Demand Responsive Transport

SLINKY is an accessible bus service for people unable to access conventional transport.  You will be eligible to use the Slinky bus if you don’t have your own transport, do not have access to a public bus service, or have a disability which means you can’t access a public bus.

You need to register to use the service and journeys have to be booked at least 24 hours in advance.  Curry Mallet is served by the CHARD & ILMINSTER SLINKY on THURSDAYS for journeys to Ilminster, and the TAUNTON SLINKY on TUESDAYS and FRIDAYS for journeys to Taunton.  Services may also be available on other days if required.

Concessionary Travel passes are valid.  The Slinky services are funded by Somerset County Council.

Community Transport Services

Community Transport meets the needs of individuals unable to access conventional transport – those without their own transport, where public transport is not available or those who cannot access conventional transport.  These services can be used for a variety of reasons, including health appointments, shopping, commuting to and from work, social events, evening classes and for making links with other public transport.

Nine miles from Curry Mallet, Taunton station is operated by First Great Western.  Further information about the station is available here.  It is also served by Cross Country trains and by the West Somerset Railway on special event days and by mainline steam excursions.

Taunton connects directly with London Paddington with some journeys taking just 1hr 48mins, with Penzance to the west, and routes to the north and Scotland.
