Brownies, Guides & Rainbows

Brownies

Brownies opens up a world of exciting challenges and the opportunity to try new things and make brilliant friends. Through regular meetings, special events, day trips, sleepovers, camps and holidays, Brownies learn new hobbies, play music, explore other cultures and get adventurous outdoors. Brownies are girls aged seven to ten who become a member of a Six and follow a programme called the Brownie Adventure. Each Brownie plays an active part in making decisions about what the unit does.

North Curry Brownies meet on Mondays during term time from 5.30 to 7pm at North Curry village hall.

Rainbows

Being a Rainbow is all about developing self-confidence, building friendships, trying new things and having fun. Rainbows learn by doing – they get their hands dirty with arts and crafts, cooking and playing games. Rainbows are girls aged 5 to 7 who follow a programme called the Rainbow Jigsaw, through which they can take part in activities with girls their own age. Each Rainbow plays an active part in making decisions about what the unit does.

North Curry Rainbows meet every Tuesday during term time in North Curry Primary School hall from 5.15 to 6.15pm.

Guides

Guides get involved in everything – from adventure sports and performing arts to travelling and taking part in community action projects. Guides have the chance to get out there and do something different. They are girls aged 10 to 14 who explore new places, go on camps, holidays and trips (sometimes abroad!), meet new friends at events like the BIG GIG, try exciting activities. By joining, they can become part of a worldwide community of girls who come together to have fun, learn and make things happen.

There is now a Guide unit in North Curry, meeting on alternate Thursdays in the meeting room of North Curry Village Hall from 6-8pm.
