Over the summer, Devon and Somerset Fire & Rescue Service have been consulting on changes to the fire and rescue service in Devon and Somerset. They say that under the new proposals, they are looking to move underused resources from where the risk is low and invest more into work to reach the most vulnerable members of society and help keep them safe. This includes proposed closures of a number of fire stations where risk and activity is low and the removal of fire engines that are underused.
The consultation is open until midnight on 22 September and they’d like as many people as possible to take part. There’s still time to contribute via the consultation website
